As Manchester United ramps up preparations for the 2024/25 season, the club has shared a significant update on defender Tyrell Malacia. With pre-season training in full swing at Carrington, several key players have returned, including Mason Mount, Marcus Rashford, Casemiro, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Jadon Sancho.

Fans noticed Malacia’s absence in the training photos, sparking concerns about his condition. Malacia has been recovering from a knee surgery he underwent in the summer of 2023 and has not played since. To address the speculation, Manchester United released an update showing Malacia participating in training, marking progress in his fitness program.

The club confirmed that Malacia has been diligently rehabilitating and returned to the training ground earlier this week. Photos showed him training under medical supervision, working towards regaining full fitness. Malacia, who joined United from Feyenoord in 2022, has made 39 appearances and is a fan favorite.

In addition to the update on Malacia, United announced new additions to Erik ten Hag’s coaching staff, including Rene Hake and Ruud van Nistelrooy. Ten Hag expressed enthusiasm about the new team members, emphasizing their potential to bring fresh ideas and innovations.

Manchester United’s pre-season schedule includes matches against Rosenborg, Rangers, Arsenal, Real Betis, and Liverpool. The season will officially start with the FA Community Shield match against Manchester City on August 10.
