At least the chance of injury was lower and I could focus on the European Championship earlier.”

These comments, translated from Hungarian by the Hungary FA, sparked reactions on social media. Some fans interpreted Szoboszlai’s words as suggesting he was unconcerned about his reduced role in Liverpool’s title race, which led to a mixed reception among the fanbase.

One fan commented on X (formerly Twitter), “Hope that’s been translated wrong because that statement is absolutely embarrassing if that’s what he actually said.” Another urged for calm, stating, “Definitely taken wrong. Everyone needs to calm down.” A third noted, “That attitude has been apparent since about last November,” while a fourth added, “Surely this translation is wrong.
