Johan Bakayoko has not yet committed his future to PSV Eindhoven amid ongoing links to Liverpool. Despite this uncertainty, the 21-year-old Belgian international disclosed that he declined a Premier League move last summer.

Bakayoko has recently been associated with potential transfers to Liverpool, Arsenal, and Bayern Munich. His standout performance this season contributed significantly to PSV’s Eredivisie title win. Reports from the Netherlands indicate that the right-winger could be available for as low as €50 million this summer.

Although Bakayoko will be participating with the Belgian national team at this summer’s European Championships, he has chosen not to specify his plans for the next season despite the Premier League interest.

“The only thing I can say is that next year I will be on a football pitch somewhere,” Bakayoko told Dutch newspaper Het Belang van Limburg.

Additionally, Bakayoko acknowledged that the opportunity to move to the Premier League is not new. He confirmed that Vincent Kompany, his compatriot, attempted to recruit him to newly-promoted Burnley last summer.

“I received a call from Kompany last year, indeed,” Bakayoko added. “He then explained his vision. That was nice. I clarified my view. It was a good conversation, but that was last summer.”
