It has been just over a month since Erik ten Hag was relieved of his duties by Manchester United but he still remains a huge talking point amongst fans, especially after this weekend’s game against Everton.

Manchester United cruised to a dominant 4-0 victory over Everton on Sunday, with Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee both scoring twice. Ruben Amorim’s tenure as manager continues to impress, with the Portuguese coach praising players like Amad Diallo, who played a key role in the win by assisting both of Rashford’s goals.

Amad, recently lauded by Amorim for his defensive improvements in the 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town, shone in a more attacking role against Everton. Fans, however, took the opportunity to criticize former manager Erik ten Hag, highlighting his limited use of Amad in favor of Antony during his reign. Many questioned Ten Hag’s decisions, particularly in key moments like the Champions League match against Fenerbahce, where Amad’s late substitution came under scrutiny.

Ten Hag had defended his choices by citing Antony’s performances in training, but supporters remain frustrated, especially as Amad now flourishes under Amorim’s guidance. The Ivorian’s adaptability and pressing ability have made him a standout player, perfectly suited to Amorim’s system, leaving fans to wonder what might have been under Ten Hag.
