BREAKING NEWS: live from Old Trafford, “Rúben Amorim told me to come and train with them, if I do well, I will join his team just like Johnny Evans did under Erik tenHag. He really gave me a lifeline and I am grateful to him.

Bacary Sagna believes Paul Pogba would seize the opportunity to return to Manchester United for a third stint, particularly under the guidance of current manager Ruben Amorim.
The 31-year-old French World Cup winner is currently without a club after parting ways with Juventus earlier this month. His second spell at the Serie A club was brief, with just 12 appearances before his career was interrupted by a doping controversy.
In September 2023, Pogba received a four-year suspension after testing positive for a banned substance. However, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) later reduced the ban to 18 months, ruling that the substance was ingested unintentionally. This decision makes Pogba eligible to resume training in January 2024 and competitive play by March.
Despite these setbacks, Pogba’s talent remains undeniable, and Sagna, his former France teammate, suggests a return to United could be possible. Sagna expressed confidence that Pogba would flourish under Amorim, a young and dynamic coach who understands the game from a player’s perspective.
He noted Pogba’s genuine affection for the club and highlighted the difficulties the midfielder faced during his previous time at Old Trafford, attributing some of the challenges to the broader struggles the club endured at the time.
Manchester United’s midfield has faced significant challenges this season, with injuries to Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte exposing a lack of depth. Their recent 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town underscored these issues, as both Casemiro and Christian Eriksen were forced off during the match. If Pogba becomes available in March, he could provide a valuable boost to United’s midfield. While it remains unclear if Amorim envisions Pogba in his plans, Sagna’s remarks suggest that a reunion at Old Trafford is not beyond the realm of possibility.
