Hansi Flick holds Barcelona star responsible for shocking draw against Celta Vigo, Laporta threatens to expel player from tea

Barcelona were held to a dramatic 2-2 draw against Celta Vigo on Saturday evening at Balaídos Stadium in the 14th round of the Spanish League. Despite the result, Barcelona remained atop the table with 34 points, maintaining a five-point lead over Atletico Madrid and a seven-point advantage over Real Madrid. However, Real Madrid has two games in hand and could potentially reduce the gap to just one point.
According to the Spanish newspaper *El Nacional*, German coach Hansi Flick was furious following the late collapse against Celta Vigo. The report stated that Flick singled out Jules Koundé for a poor performance that allowed the hosts to recover from a two-goal deficit. Flick also criticized young midfielder Marc Casado, holding both players responsible for the result and threatening to drop them from the starting lineup if their performances did not improve.
Flick’s frustration extended to Gerard Martin, who was substituted at halftime after a lackluster display. The coach reportedly decided to put Martin up for sale following the match. Flick is now considering significant changes to Barcelona’s lineup, starting with the exclusion of Koundé, who has been struggling with form. The defender’s recent mistakes, including errors against Real Sociedad and Celta Vigo, have been costly for the team.
The situation took another turn when club president Joan Laporta entered the locker room after the match. Laporta is said to have warned Koundé that he could face being sold if his form does not improve. He also urged Flick to give Pablo Torre more opportunities in upcoming matches, expressing dissatisfaction with the performance of the Dutch player, whose lack of pressure contributed to Celta’s second goal.
The newspaper added that Laporta cautioned Flick against allowing the team to spiral into a series of poor results, a scenario that could jeopardize their season. Flick now faces pressure to make tactical adjustments and restore consistency to Barcelona’s performances as they continue their push for the La Liga title.
