De Bruyne, now 33, is in the final year of his contract with Manchester City. While some reports suggest discussions about an extension have started, Sky Sports Switzerland journalist Sacha Tavolieri claims the Belgian is “unlikely to renew his contract.” Instead of a move to Saudi Arabia, De Bruyne is reportedly eyeing Major League Soccer, with San Diego FC—a team set to join MLS in 2025—emerging as the most concrete option. If De Bruyne leaves, Güler could become a natural choice for City to reconfigure their creative midfield setup.

Arda Güler has also caught Arsenal’s attention, with the Gunners considering him a strong option to bolster their attacking midfield. Bayer Leverkusen is similarly interested and sees Güler as a potential replacement for Florian Wirtz, who could depart next summer.
