Man United ‘make move to sign new striker’ for Ruben Amorim

Man United have made contact with PSG over the January signing of Randal Kolo Muani, French outlet Le 10 Sport have reported.

Manchester United reportedly remains interested in signing Randal Kolo Muani, following their unsuccessful attempt to acquire him from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2023. The French striker joined Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for up to €90 million (£75 million) instead, but now there are discussions about a potential January move to Old Trafford.

Facing a limited transfer budget, United is reportedly exploring a loan deal for Kolo Muani. Negotiations with PSG are expected to continue as the Red Devils seek to bolster their attacking options under new manager Ruben Amorim. United’s current strikers, Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee, have struggled for consistency, making the addition of attacking firepower a priority for Amorim’s plans.

However, Kolo Muani’s underwhelming performance at PSG raises questions about whether he is the right fit. The 25-year-old has scored just 11 goals in 52 appearances, often from the bench, since his move to Paris. This lack of impact could make him a risky option, even as a loan signing.

Some argue there are better candidates available who could provide the consistent goal threat United needs to improve their results under Amorim. Given the significance of such a signing, the decision to pursue Kolo Muani might be viewed as a gamble.

Meanwhile, Amorim has reportedly made a decision regarding Joshua Zirkzee’s future, signaling that changes could be imminent in Manchester United’s attacking lineup.
