Man United fans are excited after spotting footage of Ruben Amorim ‘working closely’ with star

Last week, the 39-year-old former Sporting Clube de Portugal manager officially began his tenure as Manchester United’s new head coach, succeeding Erik ten Hag.

Ten Hag was dismissed last month following a 2-1 Premier League defeat to West Ham United at the London Stadium. On Monday, Amorim oversaw his first training session with United, working with players not called up for international duty.

In a video shared on social media, Amorim was seen speaking with young midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, likely offering guidance on adapting to his tactical approach.

Fans reacted positively to the exchange between Amorim and Mainoo. One supporter commented: “Is that you Pep?” while another tweeted, “Am seriously seeing Pep vibes here, fingers crossed United might get the same rewards.” A third fan wrote: “Good. Picked up on Mainoo’s biggest weakness straight away. Oh, this guy is taking us back to the top.”

In his first interview with the club, Amorim outlined what fans can expect in his first match in charge, which will be against Ipswich Town this weekend. He said, “I think you will see an idea. You could like it or not, I don’t know, but you will see an idea. You will see a positioning. You will see something that we want to reach that kind of level. You will feel that.”

He continued, “We have to know that it’s like two trainings before the first match. This is the best league in the world. But if I have to say something to you, [it’s that] you will see an idea. This I can guarantee.”
