Contrary to recent rumors linking Manchester United and Arsenal to a potential transfer for the well-known striker Karim Benzema, the French player has refuted any plans to depart from Al Ittihad.

Benzema completed his move to Al Ittihad from Real Madrid in the summer of 2023, securing a three-year contract valued at £172 million per year. Despite speculations of discontent in Saudi Arabia, the prospect of Benzema leaving faces substantial obstacles due to the complex approval process involving Al Ittihad’s coach Marcelo Gallardo, sporting director Roman Planes, and Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Sport.

Contrary to the circulating rumors, Benzema has not expressed any dissatisfaction or a desire to depart from Al Ittihad. The rumors gained traction when he returned late from a trip to Mauritius, leading to reports of a ‘temporary’ exit desire and scheduled discussions with the club’s administration following interest from Manchester United and Arsenal.

Benzema’s former club, Lyon, has also been mentioned in connection with him, adding to the intrigue of a potential move to the Premier League for the French striker, who enjoyed a prolific spell at Real Madrid, scoring 354 goals in 14 trophy-laden years.

Addressing the rumors, Benzema stated, “It’s entirely false! The French media is at a loss for new ideas. Bigger is better.”

While the financial complexities of Benzema’s salary may complicate any potential move, his addition could bolster the goal-scoring capabilities of both Manchester United and Arsenal. United currently struggles in ninth place in the Premier League, facing challenges in finding the net, while Arsenal encounters difficulties in maintaining their title aspirations.

Benzema, with nine goals and five assists in 15 games for Al Ittihad, could provide a significant boost to either club. However, the Saudi team trails in the title race, with Al Hilal leading the Saudi Pro League undefeated and holding a considerable points advantage over Al Ittihad, highlighting the challenging path Benzema’s current team faces.

Amidst the evolving transfer window, Benzema’s future remains uncertain, with the possibility of Manchester United and Arsenal expressing interest in the prolific striker should circumstances align favorably.
