Ex-Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has proposed that the Reds consider Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior as a successor to Mohamed Salah, who could leave Anfield when his contract concludes next season. Salah, a crucial player for Liverpool, has maintained strong form, scoring nine goals and providing nine assists in 16 appearances this season. Therefore, Liverpool manager Arne Slot is likely on the lookout for a capable successor, with Sturridge suggesting that Vinicius could be the ideal choice.

In evaluating potential Salah replacements, Sturridge told Boylesports (via GOAL) that although Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is a skilled player with athleticism and dribbling abilities similar to Liverpool’s Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo, he falls short in consistent goal-scoring. Sturridge remarked that, despite Kvaratskhelia’s talents, he may not be an ideal like-for-like substitute for Salah due to his unreliability as a scoring threat.

Sturridge further emphasized Liverpool’s need for a proven talent to fill Salah’s position. He suggested that if Vinicius Junior, one of the leading players globally, becomes unsettled at Real Madrid and opts not to renew his contract, Liverpool should make a strong bid for him. However, Sturridge recognized the slim odds of signing Vinicius, as he plays a critical role in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad and has significantly contributed to Real Madrid, with 92 goals and 82 assists across 280 appearances.

Should Vinicius be unavailable, Liverpool may explore alternatives, such as Bundesliga forward Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt, according to reports (via Sporting News). Liverpool is reportedly eyeing a potential move for Marmoush in 2025 when he will have two years left on his contract, possibly providing leverage in negotiations. Marmoush has impressed this season with 12 goals and nine assists in 14 appearances and, though mainly a central striker, has shown adaptability on the wings, making him a promising candidate for Liverpool’s attack.
