According to a report, Carlo Ancelotti has “identified the problem player” at Real Madrid and believes he is a major factor in the team’s struggles this season.

Last season, Real Madrid enjoyed a remarkable campaign, winning both La Liga and the Champions League titles.

They finished 10 points ahead of rivals Barcelona in the league and captured their 15th European trophy with a victory over Borussia Dortmund at Wembley Stadium. Mbappe has scored eight goals across all competitions, but Real Madrid currently trail Barcelona in La Liga.

According to Spanish outlet *Relevo*, Ancelotti has pointed to Mbappe’s lack of defensive effort as a significant issue for the team.

After losses to Lille and Barcelona, Ancelotti sought to understand the reasons for the team’s sharp decline from last season’s performances. The report claims Mbappe has been identified as the main issue due to his limited defensive contributions, running only eight kilometers in Real’s heavy 4-0 loss in El Clasico last month.

This lack of defensive work from Mbappe disrupts the team’s balance, making it challenging to regain possession.

The report also states that Jude Bellingham is seen as one of the biggest victims of the team’s current tactical imbalance.

There is “a certain annoyance” within the squad regarding Mbappe’s reluctance to “roll up his sleeves” and contribute defensively.

In matches against Borussia Dortmund, where Real trailed at halftime, and against Barcelona, players engaged in heated discussions on the pitch to address the team’s imbalance.

Ancelotti will be looking to improve his team’s organization ahead of upcoming games against AC Milan and Osasuna this week.
