Former Liverpool Player McAteer Predicts Trent Alexander-Arnold Will Join Jude Bellingham at Real Madrid

Former Liverpool midfielder Jason McAteer has suggested that Trent Alexander-Arnold may soon join his close friend Jude Bellingham in Madrid, while he believes Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are likely to remain at Anfield.

McAteer remarked that the club will likely be developing a strategy behind the scenes. “In an ideal world, they will want to keep all three. Whether they can manage to do that is another question.”

He raised concerns about whether Fenway Sports Group (FSG) would be willing to support retaining all three players due to financial limitations in the changing football environment.

With Dani Carvajal recently suffering an ACL injury at 32, Alexander-Arnold might find an opening, particularly given his strong friendship with Bellingham. McAteer highlighted that Alexander-Arnold has already accomplished a lot at Liverpool and may be inclined to seek new challenges.

“As a Liverpool fan and player, there’s only one club you leave Liverpool for, and that’s Real Madrid. It would be naive to think they wouldn’t want him,” he said.

In McAteer’s opinion, he anticipates Alexander-Arnold making the move to Real Madrid, while predicting that Salah will stay and Van Dijk will sign a short-term deal with the club. “That’s what I think will happen,” he concluded.
