Georges Baldock, the Greek international right-back for Panathinaikos Athens, was found dead in his pool on Wednesday, October 9, as reported by the official ANA agency.
The 31-year-old, who formerly played for Sheffield United, was discovered unresponsive at his home in Glyfada, a suburb located south of Athens. The agency has not disclosed any details regarding the circumstances of his death. His family confirmed the tragic news, expressing profound shock and requesting privacy during this challenging time.
Born in Buckingham, England, Baldock held dual citizenship in Greece and England. He signed a three-year deal with Panathinaikos last May. With Greek heritage through his grandparents, Baldock made his debut for the Greek national team in 2022, earning 12 caps.
