Jurgen Klopp makes swift return to football after emotional Liverpool exit as new role ‘announced’

Jürgen Klopp has reportedly accepted a new position following his departure from Liverpool over the summer. After nearly nine years leading the team, Klopp chose to resign as Liverpool’s manager at the conclusion of the 2023/24 season.
During his tenure, the club achieved significant success, winning the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup, among other honors.
Since leaving Anfield, Klopp has been rumored to be a candidate for roles with the England national team, the U.S. team, and Barcelona. However, he was thought to prefer a break from football before determining his next steps. Recent reports indicate that Klopp is preparing to take on a new role.
According to Christian Falk, head of football at BILD, Klopp will assume the position of “Global Head of Soccer” for Red Bull starting January 1, 2025.
As per Sky Sports Germany, he will provide guidance to all Red Bull teams in areas including coaching, team philosophies, player development, and recruitment of players and managers. Clubs like RB Leipzig, RB Salzburg, New York Red Bulls, and Red Bull Bragantino are expected to benefit from his expertise.
Klopp’s former assistant at Liverpool, Pepijn Lijnders, is currently managing RB Salzburg but faces increasing scrutiny due to a poor start to the season, including a 5-0 defeat to Sturm Graz and a 4-0 loss to Brest in the Champions League.
In addition to Lijnders, other members of Klopp’s coaching staff from Liverpool, such as Vitor Matos and Andreas Kornmayer, have also joined the Austrian club.
Klopp is making a quick return to football after his emotional exit from Liverpool, as his new role has been officially announced. Meanwhile, Liverpool is actively pursuing the signing of a Bundesliga star, and there are indications that one of their players might consider a £17 million move in January, with interest from three Premier League clubs. Additionally, former Liverpool player Bobby Clark made a permanent switch to Salzburg this summer, later joined by Stefan Bajcetic on loan, both of whom made their senior debuts under Klopp.
