By mercilessly mocking Erik Ten Hag, Arne Slot has successfully earned the hearts of the internet today.

The Dutch head coach delivered a humiliating defeat to Manchester United in September, dominating the match with a 3-0 victory at Old Trafford that saw home fans leaving in large numbers before the final whistle.
Unwilling to let his opponent retain any dignity, the 46-year-old quickly dismantled Erik ten Hag’s inadequate tactical plan right after the match.
The remarkable improvement of Ryan Gravenberch, another former Ajax player overlooked by the United manager, is another point against Ten Hag. Was this enough for Arne Slot to be satisfied until their next encounter with Manchester United in January? Definitely not.
The former Feyenoord manager couldn’t resist making a subtle jab at his Manchester counterpart during his pre-Bologna press conference.
In remarks shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Lewis Steele from the Daily Mail, Slot implied that Liverpool’s rivals were a “bottom league table team.”
Arne Slot with a little jab at Manchester United (intentional or not 😅): “Everyone tells me that a top league table team is harder to beat than a bottom league table team – and we haven’t faced one of those yet.”

To be fair to Slot, his perspective is completely valid.
If you’re questioning whether United should continue with Ten Hag… here’s a noteworthy statistic. https://t.co/UvIbtKvEfo

United were utterly disorganized during their match against us at Old Trafford, struggling to assert any control in midfield.
This was particularly evident when looking at Ryan Gravenberch’s final stats. The Dutch international recorded just six fewer ground duel wins (7) than the entire starting midfield of the Red Devils (13).
Despite a number of new signings in Manchester this summer, Ten Hag’s inability to establish a clear identity for a club that has seemed aimless since Alex Ferguson’s departure continues to be a concern.
It might be time for the Dutchman to secure a new contract!
