Liverpool may face a challenge in their upcoming Champions League match against Bologna, potentially missing the skills of Diogo Jota and Federico Chiesa.

A recent update indicated that Jota’s foot scan showed no significant issues, but there is still no definitive news regarding Chiesa’s condition.

“Unfortunately, they have Jo. If I step out of the way, you’ll see that one bit of good news is that Darwin Nunez is back in training. He missed the game against Wolves due to illness,” Vinny O’Connor shared with Sky Sports. “However, Diogo Jota is currently sidelined with a foot injury. He’s had a scan that came back clear, but he didn’t train today.”

“There’s still a chance he could participate against Bologna, but it seems more likely that Darwin Nunez will start in his place,” the reporter added.

Regarding Chiesa, the situation remains unclear. O’Connor mentioned, “We’re not entirely sure about him at the moment. We’ll get more details when we speak to Arne Slot later.”

Chiesa’s recent injury caused concern among Liverpool fans after he was seen limping off during the 2-1 victory over Wolves.

Arne Slot’s pre-Bologna press conference is set for 3 PM (BST), where more injury updates for Liverpool are anticipated.

With Chiesa and Jota currently sidelined (hopefully temporarily), the injury list has now grown to three players.

Harvey Elliott has been receiving treatment for a fractured foot sustained during a training session with the England U21 team in early September.

Fortunately, it seems that Jota will recover soon. Fans hope for similar positive news regarding Chiesa ahead of a busy fixture schedule in late October.

Liverpool is set to play four matches from October 20 to October 30, providing ample opportunity for Chiesa to contribute, especially to help relieve Mo Salah as the year ends.

Arne Slot has confirmed that Chiesa missed the latest training session due to some minor injury issues. Unfortunately, he will miss his first Champions League match at Anfield, but there is hope he can participate in the league game against Crystal Palace before the international break.
