Just a day after Sir Jim Ratcliffe was finally announced as a minority owner at Man United, it appears that the Red Devils are close to agreeing their first January transfer deal.

Erik ten Hag and his team face the imperative of a strong start in 2024, and the success of any transfer activities may have a significant impact on their performance.

It appears highly probable that 21-year-old Amad Diallo won’t remain at the club beyond the winter transfer window.

As per Football Insider, the player, who impressively scored 14 goals during his loan spell at Sunderland, is expected to be sent on loan again, with Southampton being a likely destination.

Regarded as a potential future star for Manchester United when acquired from Atalanta in 2021, the Ivorian player has not made a significant impact at Old Trafford.

Instead, he has had loan stints at Rangers, followed by a relatively successful period at Sunderland.

Given the challenging phase currently faced by the Red Devils, it may not be the opportune moment for him to be integrated into the first-team setup.
