English football pundit Alan Shearer delivers his honest verdict on Marcus Rashford after Manchester United goal vs Southampton
English football analyst Alan Shearer has expressed his honest view on Marcus Rashford following the Manchester United forward’s goal against Southampton. Although Shearer, a former Newcastle United striker, had been critical of Rashford recently, he upheld his earlier comments after Rashford scored his first goal of the season in United’s 3-0 win over Southampton on Saturday, asserting that his criticisms were warranted.
Rashford, who netted the second goal at St. Mary’s, thanked United manager Erik ten Hag for his ongoing support. This goal was Rashford’s first Premier League goal since March.
Even with Rashford’s recent goal, Shearer believes his previous criticism was justified. He had earlier criticized Rashford following Manchester United’s 2-1 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion, a scenario that Ten Hag had called “stupid,” especially since he felt Rashford was incorrectly judged offside during a United attack.
