During a recent paddle game, Slot praised Van Dijk’s extraordinary abilities, particularly in training positional games, stating, “This boy is not normal when it comes to football.”

Despite facing criticism last season, including claims that he was past his prime, Van Dijk silenced his critics, especially after Liverpool’s 1-0 Carabao Cup final victory over Chelsea. The Dutch defender acknowledged he wasn’t at his peak in the 2022/23 season but has since returned to top form this season.
