Cristiano Ronaldo Affirms Love for Manchester United Despite Controversial Exit

Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed his lasting affection for Manchester United, despite the tumultuous end to his second stint at Old Trafford. In a recent interview with Rio Ferdinand, Ronaldo shared his feelings about the club, stating that he “still loves” United, even though his departure in November 2022 was marred by controversy. His exit followed a candid interview with Piers Morgan, in which he criticized manager Erik ten Hag and former interim boss Ralf Rangnick. This interview led to the termination of his contract.
Reflecting on his departure, Ronaldo acknowledged, “We cannot control some points in our life sometimes, but it’s done… I repeat, I still love Manchester United and I wish them the best.”
Ronaldo’s exit left Manchester United scrambling to find a suitable replacement, with the loan signing of Wout Weghorst being widely regarded as insufficient. However, the team has since made strides under Ten Hag, securing both the FA Cup and League Cup.
While United has been rebuilding, Ronaldo continues to shine at Al-Nassr, recently scoring his 900th career goal in a Nations League match for Portugal against Croatia. His form remains strong as he prepares for Al-Nassr’s upcoming Saudi Pro League match against Al-Ahli.
Ronaldo’s comments highlight his enduring respect for Manchester United, despite the difficulties that defined his departure, marking yet another chapter in his storied career.
