Liverpool face the possibility of losing Virgil van Dijk, whose contract expires next year. Van Dijk has been a cornerstone of the team’s success under former manager Jurgen Klopp, but with no contract extension confirmed, the club is exploring options for his replacement. One of the top candidates is Sevilla’s Loïc Badé.

The 24-year-old French defender has a £50.6m release clause, and Liverpool are reportedly willing to meet it next year. Badé, who impressed under Arne Slot’s management with solid defensive performances, is also attracting interest from PSG and Bayern Munich, making the competition for his signature tough.

Badé’s standout performances include helping France secure a silver medal at the Olympics and playing a key role in Sevilla’s Europa League triumph. His prior unsuccessful loan spell at Nottingham Forest might fuel his determination to prove himself in the Premier League.

Replacing Van Dijk will be a huge task, but Liverpool see Badé as a promising option to fill the gap left by the influential Dutch defender.
