🚨⚽Girona Confirms Summer Bid for Barcelona’s €20M-Rated Eric Garcia

Girona’s sporting director, Quique Carcel, revealed that the club tried to re-sign Eric Garcia from Barcelona during the summer transfer window. Garcia, who was on loan at Girona last season and played a crucial role in their top-four finish, was a key target for Girona. However, Barcelona, facing squad injury issues and the need to register new players, decided to keep Garcia.

Carcel expressed disappointment over the failed transfer but acknowledged Barcelona’s position. “We were eager to have Eric return to Girona because he would have significantly strengthened our squad,” he said. Despite Girona’s efforts, Barcelona chose to retain Garcia.

In other transfer news, Girona successfully secured Oriol Romeu on loan from Barcelona and saw Pau Victor move to Barcelona after a productive spell with Barça Atletic. Carcel praised Romeu’s return, highlighting his importance to Girona, and congratulated Pau Victor on his move to Barcelona’s first team.

Girona and Barcelona are set to clash this weekend at Montilivi, although Romeu will miss the match due to a clause in his loan agreement prohibiting him from facing his parent club.
