However, VAR disallowed the goal due to Joshua Zirkzee being offside in the build-up. Brighton clinched the victory with João Pedro’s goal in the 95th minute.

The defeat left Manchester United in 11th place in the Premier League, with three points from two games.

Ahead of the match, United manager Erik ten Hag discussed Garnacho’s potential, acknowledging his talent but emphasizing the importance of hard work in reaching elite status. Ten Hag praised Garnacho for proving his value last season but noted that there is still a long way to go.

Garnacho, who made his senior debut in 2022, had an impactful season last year with 50 appearances, contributing 10 goals and five assists. He has started this season with one assist in two league matches.
