Brazilian police have reportedly dismissed the domestic abuse allegations against Manchester United winger Antony, which were initially brought forward by his former partner, Gabriela Cavallin.

Cavallin accused the 24-year-old Antony of verbal abuse, physical violence, and issuing threats, prompting the Sao Paulo police to launch an investigation. Cavallin initially made the allegations public in May 2023 on Brazilian TV Record, claiming Antony had abused her the previous year. She recounted an incident where Antony allegedly headbutted her, threw water on her, and kicked her. She further alleged that Antony threw her onto a bed, pinned her down, and caused severe discomfort by dislodging her silicone prosthesis. Cavallin also claimed Antony trapped her in their home, damaged her possessions, and prevented her from leaving.

Antony denied the accusations, asserting on Instagram that he had been falsely accused and had remained silent to avoid obstructing the investigation. He expressed confidence that his innocence would be proven and thanked his supporters for their continued encouragement.

At the same time, Greater Manchester Police are carrying out a separate investigation into similar allegations made by Cavallin, which include claims of assault during her pregnancy and other incidents in 2022 and 2023. This investigation is still ongoing.

Amid these allegations, Antony was granted a leave of absence from Manchester United and temporarily removed from the Brazilian national team. He later voluntarily participated in an interview with Greater Manchester Police and returned to training with the club.
