Arne Slot is reportedly targeting Palmeiras midfielder Luis Guilherme as his first signing after joining Liverpool, according to recent reports.
Liverpool was initially linked with Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso and Sporting Lisbon’s Ruben Amorim for their managerial role but eventually chose Slot.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed Slot’s move to Liverpool, noting that the discussions covered his salary, backroom staff, and contract length, which might start short-term but could be extended later.
Romano also outlined the compensation details, with an initial payment of €9 million plus potential add-ons totaling €2 million, and an additional €13-15 million for the entire backroom staff, to be paid within a year.
Regarding Slot’s potential signings, Spanish outlet *Nacional* reported that he aims to secure Palmeiras’ young talent, Guilherme, who has been compared to Ronaldinho for his exceptional skills.
While Liverpool is prepared to offer around €20 million, Palmeiras is holding firm on their €50 million valuation for the 18-year-old midfielder.
