Man City Star spotted on a Flight to Barcelona after rumours of his transfer to FC Barcelona was Announced days ago
Joao Cancelo has begun a season-long loan with Barcelona, where he will reunite with former teammate Ilkay Gundogan. Cancelo’s move follows a fallout with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, which led to his absence from City’s treble-winning campaign last season.
Meanwhile, Bernardo Silva, despite expressing a desire to leave Manchester City during the last three summer transfer windows, has remained at the club. Silva’s desire to leave was not due to dissatisfaction with the club but rather difficulties adjusting to life in Manchester. While City usually facilitates departures when suitable offers come in, they have not received an acceptable bid for Silva, unlike for Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus, and Cole Palmer.
Barcelona has shown interest in Silva, but financial constraints have hindered a move. Recent speculation about Silva’s future arose when he was spotted on a Ryanair flight from Barcelona to Manchester, as reported by BBC Sport’s Bettywyn Glover on Instagram.
Silva’s contract, which was renewed in August last year, reportedly includes a £50 million release clause. Although City has previously rejected offers at that price, this clause could facilitate Silva’s departure to Barcelona or another club.
As discussions continue, Silva’s future remains uncertain, with the possibility of a transfer still on the table.
