Manchester United have been linked with Federico Chiesa for some time, and the Italian international is once again in the spotlight. Last month, reports from Italy suggested that the Red Devils admire the Juventus playmaker, whose future in Turin is uncertain.

More recently, Spanish source Todo Fichajes reported that Chiesa might leave the Old Lady for the Premier League. The Azzurri star, valued at around £43.6 million, seeks a new contract to match the salary of Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic.

Man Utd and Arsenal are reportedly the most interested teams, and both could submit offers worth £43.6 million to sign Chiesa.

Erik ten Hag faces a lack of quality and depth in the attack, particularly in the wide attacking positions. Rashford was United’s top scorer last season but has only scored once in the Premier League this term. Meanwhile, big-money signing Antony has yet to score a goal despite nine league appearances.

Jadon Sancho, the last winger to score at Old Trafford, has a strained relationship with the manager. Chiesa, who can play on either flank, as a central attacking midfielder, or even as a center forward, could address these issues.

Chiesa won the European Championships with Italy in 2021 and was named the best attacker of the tournament. This season, the 26-year-old playmaker has started 9 Serie A games, contributing directly to 5 goals for Juve, who are currently two points behind leaders Inter Milan.
