Another departure from Manchester United has been confirmed following the news that Erik ten Hag will remain at Old Trafford.

After a detailed end-of-season review lasting two weeks and including discussions with potential candidates, United’s new owners, INEOS, have decided to keep Ten Hag. This decision comes after he led the club to an FA Cup final victory over Manchester City. Talks over a new deal for Ten Hag are now set to intensify.

United had already released seven players in a summer clear-out, including Anthony Martial, Raphael Varane, and Brandon Williams.

In a club statement, United also mentioned that youngster Omari Forson had been offered a new deal and was included in their retained list. However, Forson rejected the terms offered and his current contract will expire at the end of the month. He has since signed with Serie A side Monza, who described Forson as “one of the most promising prospects in Europe.”

The 19-year-old, who came through United’s ranks, has left the club in pursuit of regular football and has signed a four-year deal with the Lombardy outfit.

Ten Hag gave Forson his United debut in an FA Cup win over Wigan last season, where he assisted Kobbie Mainoo’s winner against Wolves in his Premier League debut. Forson made seven appearances in all competitions, including playing in the FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City.

On Instagram, Forson shared a picture of himself with Ten Hag on the touchline, accompanied by a message expressing his gratitude. He wrote, “Appreciate all the opportunities you gave me. Gonna show the world what you saw in me a long time ago.”
