Liverpool are in the market for a new midfielder this summer and are reportedly poised to bid for one of Europe’s standout players from last season.

Despite spending over £100 million on midfielders like Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexi Mac Allister last summer, the club is still looking to strengthen their central midfield.

According to CaughtOffside, Liverpool are preparing a £38 million bid for Ederson, aiming to convince Atalanta to sell. The Brazilian midfielder, who partnered with Teun Koopmeiners to help Atalanta win the Europa League, has been one of the top performers in Europe and has attracted attention from various clubs, including Liverpool.

While recent reports suggested that Liverpool would not pursue Ederson, the situation appears to have evolved quickly. With personal terms reportedly close to being finalized, a formal bid now seems imminent. Ederson’s addition would enhance an already strong midfield, which includes last season’s successful new signings and the promising yet untapped potential of players like Ryan Gravenberch.
