In the Supercopa de Espana semi-finals on Wednesday, Brahim Diaz scored an unconventional goal for Real Madrid during the final moments of their 5-3 victory against rivals Atletico Madrid.

With Atletico trailing 4-3 and time quickly ticking away, goalkeeper Jan Oblak advanced for a corner kick. Although the ball was cleared for an Atleti throw-in, Oblak stayed in the Real half.

As Joselu eventually cleared Cesar Azpilicueta’s long throw, Oblak found himself in a challenging situation.

Despite having a 15-yard advantage over Diaz, Oblak’s head start proved inadequate.

The 24-year-old winger raced ahead of the 31-year-old goalkeeper, ultimately scoring into an unguarded net from a distance of 40 yards.

Following the goal celebration, in which Diaz removed his shirt, he received a booking. This goal secured Real’s spot in the upcoming final against either Barcelona or Osasuna. Diaz has now scored six goals this season and eight goals in his Real career.
