Kevin De Bruyne is reportedly considering a return to Chelsea, choosing to overlook any previous shortcomings with his former club. According to Fabrizio Romano, De Bruyne intends to leave Manchester City next month.
Jose Mourinho’s handling of Kevin De Bruyne during his second tenure at Chelsea is now considered a regrettable decision by the club. De Bruyne, currently a key player at Manchester City, left Chelsea for £18 million in January 2014. Despite his immense talent, he had limited opportunities at Stamford Bridge, a common occurrence for young players. In a piece for The Players’ Tribune, De Bruyne revealed that he only had two conversations with Mourinho during his time at Chelsea.
After a loan spell at Werder Bremen, he was eventually acquired by Wolfsburg, and his departure from Chelsea is viewed as a missed opportunity.
De Bruyne stated that he had only two conversations with Mourinho during his time at Chelsea. After starting two of the season’s initial four games, he found himself on the bench and never received a chance again.

Despite not getting an explanation, he admitted his own responsibility, acknowledging his struggle to maintain match fitness and being unprepared for a starting opportunity in the League Cup.
Despite facing challenges at Chelsea, De Bruyne has found success at Manchester City. Reflecting on his time, he admitted to being somewhat naive about handling oneself as a Premier League footballer. De Bruyne highlighted that when a player falls out of favor at a club, they receive less attention during training, almost as if they cease to exist.
After experiencing a prolonged injury layoff from the beginning of the season, De Bruyne requested to leave, which he successfully did during the January transfer window. Despite the past, he remains an integral part of the City team and aims to rejoin them this month.
