Manchester United fans have been reacting on social media after hearing Gary Neville on commentary against Brighton and Hove Albion.

Following wins over newly-promoted Sunderland and Premier League champions Liverpool, Ruben Amorim’s men were looking to make it three wins in a row.

On Saturday evening, they welcomed Fabian Huzeler’s Brighton to Old Trafford, looking to continue their upturn in form.

In the first half, United were a class above as goals from Matheus Cunha and Casemiro made it 2-0.

Bryan Mbeumo made it 3-0 with 61 minutes on the clock before ex-Red Devils striker Danny Welbeck made it 3-1.

In stoppage time, Charalampos Kostoulas made it 3-2 from a corner before Mbeumo scored his second of the match to make it 4-2.

In the end, United held on for three vital points as they moved up to fourth in the table.

Despite the vital victory, United fans were unimpressed with Neville, who was on commentary for Sky Sports’ live coverage of the match.

Fans accused Neville of being too negative towards United.

One fan said: “IS Gary Neville actually a United fan or does he secretly support City? This is wild anti-United bias. United have been excellent…”

Another tweeted: “Gary Neville is so bias against us.”

A third fan added: “Gary Neville negative as f*** as ever towards United.”

Someone else wrote: “Does Gary Neville like United? His commentary is just insane.”

A fifth commented: “What is wrong with Gary Neville. Can’t just be happy for Utd.”

Another fan said: “Gary Neville should never be allowed to commentate on United games, hard to listen too.”

Reacting on BBC Radio 5 Live, former England star Paul Robinson heaped praise on United, he said: “It certainly wasn’t an easy afternoon for Manchester United. They made hard work of it after looking so convincing in the first half.

“True to form the old defensive frailties were apparent, but they are looking better and they are improving. There has certainly been a corner turned but by no means are they the finished article.”
