Liverpool Fans Deliver Alexander Isak Verdict After Official Debut

Liverpool fans have been reacting on social media after watching Alexander Isak make his debut.
On Wednesday night, Liverpool kicked off their UEFA Champions League campaign by welcoming Spanish La Liga giants Atletico Madrid to Anfield.
Ahead of the match, all the attention was on Arne Slot’s starting XI as he named Isak as his starting striker.
The Swedish international joined Liverpool from Newcastle United on transfer deadline day for a British record fee of £125 million.
After missing out on the late win over Burnley on Sunday, Isak has been named in the starting XI for the first time.
Inside the first five minutes, Liverpool went ahead after Mohamed Salah’s free kick deflected into the back of the net off Andy Robertson.
Just two minutes later, Salah got on the scoresheet to make it 2-0 to Slot’s men.
On the stroke of half-time, Atletico got back into the game thanks to a goal from Marcos Llorente.
Reacting to Isak’s first appearance on social media, Liverpool fans appear to be divided. A few are pointing out his qualities, with some stating that the 25-year-old is not yet 100% fit.
One fan said: “Isak you had me at the step over.”
Another tweeted: “Isak seems a bit rusty but that’s expected.”
A third fan added: “Stating the obvious but even seeing him running Isak will take a few weeks to get fully fit.”
Someone else wrote: “Isak looks tired already lol
A fifth commented: “Isak if that’s all we get of you tonight, we enjoyed it.”
Another fan said: “Isak will be great for us when he is fully fit. Looks rusty and tired.”
Speaking at the end of the first half, TNT Sports commentator Ally McCoist said of Atletico’s goal: “Lovely finish, just toe pokes it away. Them actually scoring isn’t that big of a surprise because since going 2-0 down they’ve had possession and had one or two openings.”
Liverpool will be back in Premier League action this weekend when they take on Everton at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
