🚑 𝗙𝗜𝗧𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘: Martin Odegaard injury update as Mikel Arteta confirms blow for Arsenal star

Arsenal have been dealt an untimely blow after Mikel Arteta confirmed that captain Martin Odegaard has suffered another setback with the same shoulder injury he was nursing before the international break. The Norwegian midfielder was forced off during Arsenal’s hard-fought win over Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium, sparking concern among fans and teammates alike. Odegaard had only just returned to full fitness and was instrumental in Arsenal’s midfield dominance, but his early withdrawal left supporters anxious about the extent of the problem.

Speaking after the match, Arteta revealed that Odegaard had aggravated the same shoulder that kept him out of training sessions last month, and the medical staff are now assessing the situation carefully. “Martin felt some discomfort and we could see he wasn’t moving freely,” Arteta told Sky Sports. “He’s been so important for us, so we didn’t want to take any risks. It’s the same shoulder as before, so we need to monitor him and see how he recovers in the next 48 hours.”

Odegaard’s injury will come as a significant concern for Arsenal fans, with crucial fixtures ahead in both the Premier League and Champions League. The Norwegian’s creativity, leadership, and work rate have been key in Arsenal’s impressive start to the season, and losing him at this stage could be a major setback. His absence would place more responsibility on the likes of Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Emile Smith Rowe to step up and deliver in midfield.

Sky Sports understands that Odegaard will undergo further scans to determine the severity of the injury, with Arsenal hopeful it is not a long-term issue. Arteta, however, remained cautiously optimistic, insisting that Odegaard’s determination and professionalism will aid his recovery process. “Martin is a fighter. He always pushes to be back on the pitch as soon as possible. Hopefully it’s nothing too serious, but we will know more soon,” Arteta added.

Arsenal supporters will now be anxiously awaiting updates from the club’s medical department, as Odegaard’s fitness could play a decisive role in the Gunners’ title challenge. With a packed schedule looming, including a crucial North London Derby and European nights under the lights, Arsenal will be desperate to have their captain fit and firing again.
