Arne Slot has done a complete U-turn and decided ‘unstoppable’ Liverpool player is not for sale

Report: Arne Slot has completely reversed his stance and determined that the ‘unstoppable’ Liverpool player is not available for transfer.

Liverpool is gearing up for an intriguing week in the transfer window as they prepare for their next Premier League match.

Following a victory against Bournemouth on Friday night, the Reds have a 10-day interval before heading to Newcastle next Monday.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has made a total U-turn regarding Federico Chiesa as the transfer deadline approaches.

While Slot will appreciate the extra time for training, it also allows Liverpool to concentrate on their transfer activities without the interruption of Premier League games.

With the Reds needing to finalize several aspects concerning both incoming and outgoing transfers, significant movement is expected before the eagerly awaited match against Newcastle.

One player anticipated to be on the outgoing list is Federico Chiesa, who has become somewhat overlooked at Anfield.

However, after Chiesa scored a dramatic late winner against Bournemouth, Slot has reportedly had a complete change of heart regarding the Italian.

Liverpool poised to prevent Federico Chiesa’s departure.

Although Liverpool has already parted ways with Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez this summer, and sadly lost Diogo Jota, there was an expectation that Chiesa would also exit.

Nonetheless, the reality is that Slot currently lacks sufficient forward options, making the sale of Chiesa seem unwise.

According to the Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpool is in agreement with this assessment. The Reds are reportedly ‘not considering’ selling the 27-year-old.

Chiesa’s goal against Bournemouth is said to have ‘increased his value’ at Anfield, and after a recent meeting with Chiesa’s agent, Liverpool is believed to have already ‘red lighted’ any potential move away.

Inter Milan and Napoli are reportedly showing interest in the No. 14, and their curiosity was reportedly sparked when Chiesa did not join the Liverpool squad for their summer trip to Asia.

However, the Reds are reported to have been adamant that Chiesa’s absence was due to fitness issues, and they now plan to retain the Italy international.

Despite Liverpool’s present position, there is also a further assertion that if Alexander Isak were to join, the Reds might entertain a late bid that comes in.

Liverpool must retain Chiesa

Even if he hadn’t scored against Bournemouth, it would still make little sense for Liverpool to sell Chiesa this summer.

The former Juventus player may not have had the most successful stint with the Reds thus far, but after a year of acclimatization, it would be unwise to part ways with him now, particularly given the limited forward options available.

Giorgio Chiellini once referred to Chiesa as ‘unstoppable,’ and if Slot can draw that out of him again, Liverpool could possess a true game-changer.

Certainly, if he continues to contribute, the Reds will struggle to find anyone better than Chiesa in the current market. Not without spending a fortune, at least.

Therefore, as Liverpool prepares to make a significant move for Isak, it is entirely logical to retain Chiesa and provide him with another opportunity to demonstrate why he was once viewed as one of the most thrilling forwards in Europe.
