What English Media Said About Bryan Mbeumo During Man United 1-1 Fiorentina

Manchester United finished their run of pre-season friendlies with a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford against Italian outfit Fiorentina. The Red Devils then won the penalty shoot-out in their final game before taking on Arsenal in the Premier League next weekend.

Simon Sohm gave the away team the lead early on, finding the back of the net after just eight minutes before Robin Gosens then turned the ball into his own net to level the scores before half-time. They were the only goals on the day, with Kobbie Mainoo later scoring the decisive penalty to win the shootout 5-4.

As much as pre-season is a time for managers to work on new systems and integrate summer transfers, it’s also a chance for fans to see new players for the first time. Indeed, Bryan Mbeumo was on show at Old Trafford for the first time, and supporters and journalists were impressed by what they saw.

What English Media Said About Mbeumo vs Fiorentina

Writing for the Manchester Evening News, Samuel Luckhurst gave the former Brentford man a 7/10 for his efforts, and wrote:

“Another enterprising performance as he played for an hour after getting 45 minutes in Atlanta. A threatening presence before he was moved up front.”

The Daily Star felt similarly, as they gave Mbemo the same 7/10, noting:

“A quite impressive debut. Quick on the ball and already demonstrating a good understanding with his dynamic attacking partners. There’s much more to come.”

The Express then made it a hat-trick of 7/10s for the new winger at Old Trafford as they were also left impressed by Mbeumo. Incidentally, GIVEMESPORT were even more complimentary as he earned an 8/10 score for being ‘United’s biggest and best-attacking threat by a mile.’

Fans React to Mbeumo’s Old Trafford Debut

It seems as though fans are even more excited about the ex-Brentford ace, as there was universal praise for the forward online. One said: “A pretty dominant display imo from United despite the draw in normal time. Mbeumo looked very good.”

Another remarked: “Mbeumo is a great player, can’t lie.”

A third fan noted that he looked great alongside fellow summer arrival Matheus Cunha: “Mbeumo and Cunha really stand out in this team, they look a different class.”

Somebody else was blown away by his speed after one burst down the wing, saying: “Mbeumo is lightning quick.”

While a final supporter concluded: “Those Mbeumo crosses just need Sesko there.”
