Manchester United fans have urged the club to sell one player after watching his performance against West Ham United.

On Saturday, United and West Ham faced off at the MetLife Stadium in New York City.

The pair, along with Everton and Bournemouth, are involved in this year’s Premier League Summer Series.

Red Devils captain Bruno Fernandes scored twice to seal a 2-1 win for Ruben Amorim’s men. Jarrod Bowen was on target for the Hammers.

Despite the victory, some United fans were left unimpressed with Mason Mount’s performance, who replaced summer signing Matheus Cunha in the 66th minute.

Reacting on social media, one fan said: “Mason Mount is a liability, sell him now before it’s too late.”

Another tweeted: “I’m sorry but Mason Mount is terrible. Can’t believe he is wearing the number 7.”

A third fan added: “The fact that he is still here is shambolic. Whoever gave him the 7 shirt needs to be rehired & sacked countless times that as to go down as one of the worse decisions in the club history.”

Someone else wrote: “Mason Mount should’ve been in that “Gang of 5”.”

A fifth commented: “What are we actually going to do with Mason Mount? So many players are just here taking up space.”

Another fan said: “Mason Mount.. no words.”

Prior to joining United, Mount impressed at boyhood club Chelsea, scoring 33 goals in 195 appearances.

In the summer of 2023, Mount left Chelsea for Old Trafford in a deal worth £60 million.

However, the 26-year-old has since been hampered by multiple injury issues, meaning he has failed to produce his best football.

So far, Mount has only managed four goals in 47 matches across all competitions for the Old Trafford club.

Speaking after the match, United boss Amorim said: “We need to prepare all the players, and we don’t have a lot of weeks or a lot of games to prepare all the team.

“That can change, you saw in the second half, there are players who can play in the first game. It’s not a decision I made already.”

United are back in action next week when they take on Bournemouth the Soldier Field in Chicago.
