Cole Palmer Sparks Break-Up Rumours After Unfollowing Long-Term Girlfriend Amid Personal Struggles

Chelsea’s rising star Cole Palmer has caused a stir online after unfollowing his girlfriend Connie Grace on social media — a move that has set tongues wagging about a possible break-up between the pair.

The 22-year-old England international, who recently helped Chelsea win the Club World Cup, has been at the centre of relationship rumours following his online activity. According to Glam Set & Match, Palmer not only unfollowed Connie on Instagram but also blocked her entirely — and fans have noticed she’s returned the favour, even unfollowing his sister weeks ago.

Palmer, known for his calmness on the pitch and clinical finishing, hinted earlier this month that he had been going through a tough time “on and off the pitch.” These comments now appear to carry more weight, as his personal life seemingly hit a rough patch behind the scenes.

Connie Grace, a Manchester-based influencer and manicurist, reportedly travelled to the United States to support Palmer during Chelsea’s Club World Cup campaign. However, she was not seen at any of the matches and didn’t post any supportive messages online — a sharp contrast from her previously active role in sharing Palmer’s achievements and milestones.

Despite the reported tension, Palmer delivered one of the best performances of his career on the pitch. In the final against Paris Saint-Germain, he scored twice and assisted once, helping the Blues secure a dramatic victory and lift the title — a major highlight in Chelsea’s pre-season preparations under new manager Enzo Maresca.

His standout moment came earlier in the tournament when he scored in the quarter-final clash against Palmeiras. Instead of a standard celebration, Palmer ran straight to the bench to hug teammate Tosin Adarabioyo. Speaking to reporters after the game, he explained:

“That’s my boy. Obviously, I’ve had a difficult time these past whatever months on and off the pitch, but he’s always been there for me and he’s helped me a lot. So, yeah, I just thought I’d go over to him.”

Those comments have now taken on new meaning, with fans and media connecting the dots between his words and what may be a painful personal split.

Palmer and Grace had reportedly been together for around three years, with their relationship often shared across social media. They were viewed by many as one of football’s more private couples, avoiding the usual flashy attention that often surrounds footballers and their partners.

The timing of the break-up speculation comes just as Palmer is gearing up for a critical new chapter at Chelsea. After an incredible 2024/25 campaign — where he was one of the Premier League’s top performers — expectations are sky-high for the talented winger as he prepares for another season at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea, under Maresca’s guidance, are preparing for two high-profile friendlies against Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan before their Premier League season begins on August 17 against Crystal Palace.

Palmer’s mental strength and professionalism will be tested, especially if he’s indeed going through emotional distress off the pitch. But if his recent form is anything to go by, the England star seems determined to not let personal matters affect his football.
