Liverpool are reportedly exploring a £70 million bid for Crystal Palace’s star attacking midfielder, who recently played a key role in guiding the club to their first-ever FA Cup triumph. While Tottenham are also showing interest, the Reds are eager to strengthen their creative midfield options.

Liverpool are reportedly preparing a sensational £70 million move for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, who has become one of the most sought-after attacking midfielders in the Premier League. According to multiple sources close to Anfield, the Reds are now in serious discussions internally about launching a formal bid for the 25-year-old, who played a pivotal role in helping Crystal Palace secure their first-ever FA Cup title earlier this month – a historic achievement that has boosted his profile across Europe.
Eze, who joined Palace from QPR in 2020, has consistently impressed with his dribbling, flair, and eye for goal. This season alone, he scored 12 goals and provided 9 assists across all competitions, often being the creative engine behind Palace’s attacking movements. His technical skills, ability to glide past defenders, and sharp decision-making in the final third have made him an ideal target for a Liverpool side eager to add more dynamism to their midfield, especially with the club transitioning into a new era under Arne Slot, who officially took over managerial duties from Jürgen Klopp.
Slot, who values tactical versatility and attacking fluidity, reportedly sees Eze as a perfect fit for his 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 systems. With Liverpool gradually reshaping their midfield over the past year — having added players like Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister — bringing in a player like Eze could offer that extra layer of unpredictability, especially in games where breaking down a low block is essential.
However, Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be monitoring the situation closely. Ange Postecoglou is an admirer of Eze’s style and sees him as a perfect replacement or partner for James Maddison, depending on tactical setup. Spurs’ interest could complicate Liverpool’s plans, especially if a bidding war begins.
Palace are reluctant to sell their star man, especially after such a landmark campaign, but sources say the club might be tempted if offers exceed £70 million, particularly if Eze himself expresses a desire to make the move to a club playing European football. His current contract runs until 2027, and Palace may demand a fee closer to £80m if competition heats up.
Eze’s camp has so far remained quiet, but those close to the player say he is “open to a new challenge” and would be excited by the opportunity to compete at the highest level of European football. Liverpool have not yet submitted an official offer, but talks are expected to progress swiftly in the coming weeks, especially before the Euros kick off, where Eze could be part of England’s final squad.
With FSG backing Slot’s summer rebuild and prioritizing creativity, flair, and depth in attack, Eze could become Liverpool’s statement signing of the window — one that could define their attacking identity for seasons to come.
