Real Madrid fans have been reacting on social media after their dismal display against Arsenal in the Champions League.

On Tuesday night, Arsenal welcomed Spanish La Liga giants Madrid to the Emirates Stadium for a mouth-watering Champions League clash.

After a tightly contested first half, Arsenal came to life in the second period.

Declan Rice defied the laws of physics after scoring two outrageous freekicks to make it 2-0.

Mikel Merino added a third goal in the 75th minute, meaning the Gunners will have a massive advantage when the second leg takes place at the Bernabeu next week.

Taking to social media, Madrid fans were less than impressed with Vinicius Jr’s performance.

One fan said: “Vinicius, Mbappe, Rodrygo and Ancelotti need their wages deducted for the next year. Truly truly embarrassing.”

A third fan added: “Vinicius has been horrendous today. Actually, our entire front 3 was terrible.”

Speaking on Amazon Prime, Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer was full of praise for Arsenal.

He said: “What a position Arsenal have put themselves in now. They have been so, so impressive in this second half. They have done everything right. They have been sensational and they deserve to be in this position.”

The Gunners will be back in Premier League action on Saturday when they take on Brentford, looking to chase down leaders Liverpool with seven matches left to play.
