“It’s the club’s responsibility, not mine. When they expressed interest in signing Mbappe, I was disheartened and took swift action. I understand the fans’ dissatisfaction, considering our longstanding relationship over nearly 10 years, and the deal has been in place for quite some time.” – Marcus Rashford conveys a concise message to Manchester United fans and teammates amidst PSG’s £200m plan, with Kylian Mbappe poised to reject Real Madrid in favor of a significant free transfer to Manchester United.

Amid swirling speculations linking Marcus Rashford to Paris Saint-Germain, the Manchester United forward, 26, has reached out to his teammate Rasmus Højlund. The two have formed a promising partnership since Højlund’s arrival at Old Trafford last summer.

Under the management of Erik ten Hag, Rashford, Højlund, and Alejandro Garnacho on the right wing have contributed to United’s recent success. With two assists from Højlund, the trio’s efforts have propelled the team to an unbeaten streak in 2024, scoring 19 goals in their last seven matches.

After Højlund’s remarkable performance against Luton Town, where he scored twice to become the youngest player in Premier League history to score in six consecutive league fixtures, Rashford took to Instagram to celebrate the team’s victory, writing, “Big win away from home.”

“One step closer to our destination!” Rashford responded to Højlund’s standout performance with an encouraging message: “Keep going bro.” However, recent reports hint at a potential significant transfer story involving Rashford in the upcoming summer window. With Kylian Mbappe set to leave PSG for Real Madrid, the French champions are reportedly eyeing Rashford as a possible replacement.

Backed by Qatari ownership, PSG reportedly has around £200 million allocated to fill the void left by Mbappe, with Rashford identified as one of the “world-class” talents on their shortlist. Despite a season with fewer goals compared to his previous campaign when he scored 30 goals, Rashford remains a target for PSG’s sporting director, Luis Campos.

Campos reportedly initiated discussions with Rashford two years ago regarding a possible move to Paris, although Rashford eventually opted to sign a contract extension with Manchester United at that time.
