DEVASTATING NEWS: Arne Slot confirms devastating injury news for Liverpool fans

Liverpool are in superb form in the Champions League and look to keep their flawless record intact, though they will do so without Diogo Jota and Joe Gomez. Neither player participated in the open training session ahead of the European fixture, confirming they won’t be available for the final group-stage match at Anfield.

Ahead of the Lille match, Arne Slot gave an update on their recovery progress during his pre-match press conference:

“Jota might return slightly earlier than Joe, but both are expected back in weeks rather than months. However, as I’ve said before, the final stage of rehab can sometimes cause delays. That said, we anticipate their return within weeks, provided everything goes as planned.”

When asked about Jota’s injury, Slot clarified:

“He overloaded a particular muscle.”

While this isn’t as encouraging as his remarks after the Brentford game, it still suggests Jota’s absence won’t be prolonged. Unfortunately, both Joe Gomez and Diogo Jota, who are no strangers to injury problems, find themselves sidelined once again.

Despite their absence, Liverpool showed against Thomas Frank’s team that they can still secure wins even without key players. Now, they must demonstrate that resilience again. A single point against Lille will guarantee progression to the next round, but maintaining their perfect record is a goal everyone at the club will strive for.
