Angel Gomes has revealed the real reason he couldn’t continue at Manchester United, stating that he nearly ended his career over it but still has love for the club. He mentioned that if Amorim wants him, certain conditions must be met before he returns; otherwise, he will consider joining another club.

Angel Gomes has hinted at his potential return to club football amid ongoing speculation about a possible Premier League move.

The 24-year-old, who emerged from Manchester United’s youth system, left the club in 2020 seeking more regular first-team opportunities after making just ten senior appearances. He joined French side Lille, where he has since made 118 appearances and scored eight goals.

Gomes recently received his first senior England call-up, marking his debut with a 2-0 win over Ireland and becoming the first player since 1992 to represent England while playing for a French club. He also received praise for his performance in England’s 2-0 victory over Finland at Wembley.

Gomes has indicated he may return to English football, stating to *L’Equipe* in November 2022, “Do I see myself coming back one day? Of course, it’s home. I would love to return. But in football, you never know. I have to stay grounded, keep playing, and make the most of my opportunities. I can’t predict the future.”
