Arsenal fans think star player won’t get back into their team after win over Ipswich

Arsenal climbed to second place in the Premier League standings with a crucial win, capitalizing on Chelsea’s 2-1 Boxing Day loss to Fulham. Kai Havertz continued his impressive form, scoring in back-to-back matches after converting a well-placed cross from Leandro Trossard to give the Gunners a first-half lead.
The German international’s recent goals, including one in the 5-1 demolition of Crystal Palace before Christmas, suggest Havertz is finding his rhythm at a critical juncture. Arsenal now trail league leaders Liverpool by six points, with Jurgen Klopp’s side holding a game in hand.
Mikel Arteta’s squad also received a boost on the injury front, as key defenders Gabriel Magalhães and Jurrien Timber have returned to action, and Oleksandr Zinchenko rejoined training. These reinforcements are expected to strengthen Arsenal’s defense in their bid to maintain pressure on Liverpool.
One of the standout stories, however, has been the emergence of 18-year-old Myles Lewis-Skelly. The versatile youngster, primarily a central midfielder, has adapted seamlessly to a left-back role, starting four of Arsenal’s last five matches across all competitions. His assured performances, including a composed display against Ipswich that saw him win a crucial late free kick, have caught the attention of fans.
Supporters have been so impressed with Lewis-Skelly that many believe he should retain his spot in the team, even as Riccardo Calafiori nears full fitness. Fans took to social media to voice their admiration for the young talent.
One fan declared, “On a positive note, MLS is a phenom. Calafiori does not get back into the team.” Another added, “Signed Calafiori just to unearth a gem in Lewis-Skelly.” Others chimed in with praise, stating, “I will pick Lewis-Skelly over Calafiori,” and “Lewis-Skelly is ready to play against men week in, week out.”
While Arsenal’s senior players return to bolster the squad, the rise of Lewis-Skelly offers Arteta a valuable dilemma as the team aims to sustain its title challenge. With youth and experience blending harmoniously, Arsenal fans will hope this mix propels the Gunners to even greater heights in the second half of the season.
