Real Madrid
LAST MINUTE ALERT IN MADRID! Three executives injured in quick succession, and according to an internal leak, Xabi Alonso is preparing to propel a 17-year-old “phenomenon” into the first team this weekend — Casa Blanca holds its breath
Real Madrid are going through a real medical nightmare after the international break. In just a few days, three of his most promising young talents — Dean Huijsen, Franco Mastantuono and especially Kylian Mbappé — joined the infirmary. A series of injuries which plunged Valdebebas into confusion, but which, paradoxically, could open a new era…
According to Marca, Dean Huijsen was the first to fall. The Spanish-Dutch defender, author of a solid start to the season, left the La Roja gathering with an injury to his left calf. Nothing dramatic, but enough to keep him off the field for ten days. Madrid doctors are hoping for a return just in time for the Clasico against FC Barcelona on october 26, but nothing is guaranteed yet.
A few hours later, it is Mbappé who caused panic. Hit in the right ankle during the match against Azerbaijan, the Blues captain was seen limping as he left the stadium. The image immediately went around the world, causing panic among Real supporters. Fortunately, the examinations carried out in Madrid ruled out any serious injury — only a slight sprain. The medical staff recommends three to four days of rest before a gradual resumption.
The situation of Franco Mastantuono17-year-old Argentine prodigy is even less worrying. Victim of muscular overload, he was repatriated to Madrid without playing a single minute for the selection. Alonso decided to spare him, aware of the key role he will play in the offensive rotation from November.
But the real problem lies elsewhere: real’s defense is decimated. Besides Huijsen, the prolonged absences of Militao, Alexander-Arnold, Rüdiger, Carvajal and Mendy terribly complicate Xabi Alonso’s plans. In the Champions League, against Kairat Almaty, he had to improvise with Tchouaméni in central defense and Camavinga on left side — a temporary, but risky solution.
Faced with this emergency context, the Basque technician seems to have found one reason for hope. According to Relevo, Alonso would have called an internal meeting with his technical staff to discuss an unexpected decision: give Endrick a chance, the 18 year old Brazilian nugget, recruited for more than 60 million euros.
“He’s hungry, he’s training with crazy intensity and he understands the game better than many veterans. Maybe the time has come”, Alonso reportedly told a staff member.
The idea of starting Endrick against Getafe this weekend is already causing a lot of ink to flow. The player, still adapting to Madrid, has been training with Group A all week and is said to have impressed with his attitude and finish. Some Spanish media even claim that Alonso is considering testing him in a hybrid role, alongside Joselu, to compensate for Mbappé’s absence.
Meanwhile, the Casa Blanca lives to the rhythm of medical reports. Every day brings its dose of uncertainty, but also of rumors and hope. Carvajal, for his part, seems on the way back. The Spanish veteran has returned to racing and could return to the group before the Clasico. Bellingham, completely recovered from his shoulder operation, regained his smile and full possession of his means — news that relieves all of Madrid.
For Alonso, the challenge becomes existential: how to keep Real afloat when half of its squad is on the care bench? His response, according to the Madrid press, is based on one word: youth. The Basque wants to take advantage of this critical period to test the limits of his young talents. Besides Endrick, the name of David Jimenez17-year-old defender from Castilla is already circulating as an emergency option for the weekend.
Supporters oscillate between worry and curiosity. “If it’s time to see the new generation, then let’s go!” can we read on social networks. Others, more cautious, fear a “risky bet” in the face of a hellish schedule.
But one thing is certain: Xabi Alonso has no intention of suffering. In an internal conference, he reportedly declared:
“We lost players, not our identity. It is in these moments that a club like Real Madrid writes its history.”
A sentence that resonates like a manifesto. What if the current crisis marked the start of a new cycle, driven by young people? In Madrid, injuries pile up, but hope is reborn — in the form of an 18-year-old kid with a quiet smile and crampons ready to make the Bernabéu vibrate.
