**Chelsea told their 17-year-old striker will be better than Nicolas Jackson ‘in two years’**
Chelsea’s academy continues to produce some of the most exciting young talents in English football, and one teenage striker is now drawing major attention after being tipped to surpass Nicolas Jackson in just a couple of years.
According to reports from within the club, coaching staff and youth scouts have been left highly impressed by the rapid progress of the 17-year-old forward, who has been shining for the Blues’ youth sides this season. His performances have not only caught the eye of Chelsea’s development coaches but have also sparked conversations among senior team insiders about his long-term potential.
The youngster — whose name has been kept under wraps publicly to ease the growing media attention — is said to possess exceptional movement, composure in front of goal, and maturity beyond his years. One senior academy source reportedly told Sky Sports News: “If he keeps improving at this rate, he’ll be better than Nicolas Jackson in two years. He’s that good.”
Jackson, who joined Chelsea from Villarreal in 2023, has shown flashes of brilliance but has also faced criticism for inconsistency in front of goal. Despite scoring key goals last season, the Senegalese international has struggled at times to lead the line with the ruthless finishing expected at Stamford Bridge.
The club’s youth coaches believe the young striker has a natural striker’s instinct — the kind of instinct that can’t be taught. His ability to find pockets of space, read defensive movements, and stay calm under pressure has been compared to that of seasoned professionals.
“Jackson has pace and power, no doubt,” another insider reportedly added, “but this boy has the killer instinct and decision-making you don’t often see in players his age. He understands timing, movement, and finishing in a very mature way. Chelsea may not need to spend heavily on strikers in a few years if they nurture him properly.”
Chelsea have been working closely to ensure the teenager’s development is managed carefully, with the club’s technical directors keen to avoid overexposure. He is expected to feature more regularly for the Under-21s this season, with potential opportunities in first-team training sessions on the horizon if he maintains his form.
The Blues’ commitment to promoting youth talent has been evident in recent years, and with manager Enzo Maresca known for his trust in young players, this 17-year-old prospect could soon find himself fast-tracked into the senior setup.
For now, Chelsea fans will have to wait patiently — but if the early predictions prove accurate, the club may have another homegrown star ready to take over the number nine role in the not-so-distant future.
As one academy coach summed it up: “Give him two years. If he stays focused and works hard, he’ll be the name everyone’s talking about — and he’ll be leadin
g Chelsea’s attack.”
