Man Utd Fans Are Making Same Point After Seeing Rasmus Hojlund Score on Napoli Debut

Manchester United have reportedly set an asking price for striker Rasmus Hojlund.

Back in the summer of 2023, Danish international Hojlund left Serie A side Atalanta to join United in a deal worth a reported fee of £64 million plus £8 million in add-ons.

A lot was expected of Hojlund after his impressive displays for Atalanta but the 22-year-old has so far struggled to produce his best football for the Red Devils.

So far, Hojlund has only managed to score 24 goals in 82 appearances across all competitions for the Old Trafford club.

As a result, the Dane faces an uncertain future ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

In recent days, it has been claimed that United have now set an asking price for the striker.

As reported by Italian news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, Serie A side Napoli are interested in doing a deal with United for Hojlund in the summer.

However, it has been suggested that Napoli cannot afford to meet the £50 million asking price set by the Old Trafford club.

Speaking recently, United legend Jaap Stam has accused head coach Ruben Amorim of holding Hojlund back.

He said to Makthavarse.se, via The Express: “I think that it’s the style of play that is holding Rasmus Holjund back.

“We don’t know how the manager is trying to use him in matches and I think he doesn’t get a lot of chances to touch the ball and get into games.”

Stam added: “It becomes a very difficult situation for a striker because you don’t see crosses coming into the box, and the emphasis should be on creating chances for him. If you don’t get chances, you can’t prove how good a striker you are.”

United will be back in Premier League action on April 1 when they take on Champions League chasing Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
