Arsenal fans turn on one player after Liverpool defeat as Eberechi Eze claim made

Arsenal fans are in agreement over Eberechi Eze as they turned on one player following their bruising defeat to Liverpool.

Arsenal suffered a crushing 1-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.

The Anfield showdown didn’t quite live up to its billing as the game was destined to end 0-0 until a moment of magic.

Dominik Szoboszlai scored a sensational free-kick in the 83rd minute to give his side all three points over their title rivals.

The Gunners frustrated the hosts for large spells of the game but failed to create any clear-cut chances.

Mikel Arteta opted with Gabriel Martinelli and Noni Madueke on either wing, with Viktor Gyokeres leading the line.

But Arsenal fans weren’t impressed with Arteta’s decision to start Martinelli over Eze, who made an instant impression when he entered the fray in the second-half for his debut following his transfer from Crystal Palace.

Eze replaced Martinelli in the 70th minute and he impressed Arsenal fans, who slammed the Brazilian forward following his drab showing in attack.

One X user wrote: “Eze’s done more than Martinelli in 5 minutes…”

A second suggested: “Imagine if Eze was there and not Martinelli.”

A third added: “Eze made a difference in like 5 touches. Difference in quality to Martinelli is massive.”

A fourth said: “Eze and Martinelli, that is NIGHT AND DAY in terms of quality on the ball, good lord.”

Another exclaimed: “I’m in f**king tears man leave Martinelli in Merseyside cos Eze’s already done more than him in 5 minutes.”

Eze, who cost Arsenal £67.5 million, could play from the start when Arsenal resume their Premier League campaign following the international break.

They face Nottingham Forest on September 13.

Arsenal head into the international break with six points on the board, having won two of their three opening league games of the new season.
