BREAKING ‼️: Rio Ferdinand blasts critics – “Stop blaming Onana, the real problem was another United player”.

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has jumped to the defence of André Onana after yet another frustrating night for the Red Devils. While many fans and pundits were quick to point fingers at the goalkeeper once again, Ferdinand insisted that the Cameroonian was not at fault this time – instead, he revealed that another player completely let the team down.
“Stop blaming Onana all the time,” Ferdinand fumed after the game. “At this point, anybody that blames Onana doesn’t understand football at all. Onana gave it his all last night, but there was one Manchester United player who spoiled the show for everyone. That’s the truth.”
According to Ferdinand, the player in question not only failed to influence the game positively but also dragged the team backwards with poor decision-making and a lack of fight. “The body language was wrong, the performance was poor, and every time the team tried to build momentum, he killed it. Amorim should have substituted him in the first half – the warning signs were already there,” the ex-defender added.
United’s problems this season have often been pinned on Onana due to his high-profile mistakes, but Ferdinand argued that football is more complex than simply blaming the goalkeeper. He highlighted the need for responsibility from every player on the pitch, saying: “Onana can’t do everything. You need leaders, you need players who will fight. Last night, this one guy let the whole team down.”
Fans have since erupted on social media, debating who Ferdinand was referring to. Many have speculated it could be a senior midfielder or an attacker who failed to step up, while others believe the blame lies with Amorim for not making tactical changes early enough.
One thing is certain – Ferdinand’s passionate defence of Onana has shifted the spotlight. The United legend has made it clear: the crisis at Old Trafford goes far beyond the goalkeeper.
AMORIM SHOULD HAVE SUBSTITUTED HIM FROM THE FIRST HALF 😤📌
